Lamby and Hexagons

Margaret had a little lamb, with fleece as white as a felted jumper,
and a free pattern from  Lamb Pincushion by Mari Martin for Connecting Threads,
Margaret liked this pincushion as it was so easy,
so Margaret showed him off in her Nasturtions.

Margaret often visits people who aren't home so she put cards from Tracey   (who has photos of real sheep on her last post )  to good use by printing a note and gluing them to the back of the cards. Margaret apologises - the cards are from two very talented ladies who are photographers, as well as living in rural areas. Tracey and Donna thankyou . I will add that one friend said " I've still got that lovely card you wrote on".

Margaret made the hexagons in to a bag that was a very frustrating project ,
Margaret thinks the bag will look nice filled with gold wrapped chocolates or a potted  pointsetta for decoration for the Christmas table.

Lamby said " hey those Nasturtions are a bit peppery and might be good for you human's salads, but give me grass "

Christmas Door Hanger and Aladdin's Cave

The finished Christmas Door hanger, made with covered plastic milk or juice bottle tops and a tube of Tarzan's Grip, and a little help from The Reject Shop.

I am a softie for tradition, yesterday I was a volounteer selling poppies outside Collins Place Collins Street Melbourne. When I saw a call for  volounteers in the R.A.A.N.C.Newsletter, I said I could do that. Then as the time grew closer I wondered if I had rocks in my head instead of a brain. So yesterday morning I went to Melbourne on the train reaching Anzac House at the top end of Collins Street just on 11 o"clock.  All traffic is halted , people walking stop, a bugler walks to the center of every intersection in the city grid and the last post is played then a minutes silence the reville then people go about their business .

I went in got my tray and in trepidation went out on the street to sell Poppies, Ah! , sitting in the sun chatting with buyers , young and old alike I learnt that in Canada a donation is given and you get a poppy, here we have $2.00 $5.00 $10.00 $20.00 $50.00 poppies and a $3.00 wrist band. My very small effort of 1 1/2 hours raised $199.00.

From selling Poppies I went out to Fitzroy on the 86 tram to Smith and Johnston Street Collingwood.
Walked down a block to George Street and entered Aladdin's Cave , well that's not the right name. I entered Jimmy Buttons 375 George Street Fitzroy .

Two steps inside the door and what do you want in, braid, buttons, embellishment, in every colour, every fabric, every everything you would ever want. Simply Amazing.  Whatever you want would be there somewhere in this higgly piggly small warehouse.
