Being proactive again--- found Mojo. I think the heat and humidity gets you down , well that's my story.
I had a bit of a clean up and finished of some of those things that have been waiting for something.
A book that was waiting to be covered and a finish on a Gail Pan pin cushion. Though I like to use these delightful pincushions as brooch cushions.
An a assortment of Christmas pieces that were left over from other projects. In a Op shop I came across a long table runner, bought it home unpicked and remodelled it into a table topper.
This long evening dress was the right colour for another work on the back burner, its ready to be refashioned into ???
Have a good weekend it is going to be a hot one.

Time out from sewing, Time to visit a friend of 69 years, yes that's correct Lois and her family moved in to a new house next to ours in Ivanhoe in 1942and we have remained friends ever since. Lois lives in Greensborough , so while in Melbourne we went to visit the Percy Grainger Museum. The day was very hot, give thanks for air conditioned trains, trams and venues.
Percy Aldridge Grainger (1882-1961) was an internationally renowned Australian-American composer and pianist. His extraordinarily full life also included pioneering work as a folk music collector and arranger, educator, social and musical commentator, clothing designer and Free Music inventor. He was a skilled linguist and became known, in addition to his musical accomplishments, for his forthright opinions on many subjects. Percy Grainger preserved the evidence of his creative life - his archive, personal library and many of his possessions - in his Museum or 'Past-hoard-house' on the campus of the University of Melbourne, the city of his birth. I am glad that I had this Museum on my bucket list as the visit was an insight into a musical genius, his life, times family and clothing. Percy's father built the Princess Bridge over the Yarra River in Swanston Street.
The next day we visited the Bundoora Homestead . The fourteen roomed Queen Anne styled mansion was built in 1899 for J.M.V.Smith,a horse breeder and situated on 606 acres north of Melbourne. Today Bundoora is a suburb of Melbourne serviced by an electric tram .
Gold coin entry opening hours Wednesday-Friday 11am-4pm Saturday-Sunday 12noon-5pm
free admission address 7-27 Snake Gully Drive, Bundoora
Throughout the year their is a comprehensive program of contemporary visual arts. We went to see the About Time Studio Tapestry 1975 - 2005.
The stained glass windows are worth the visit as no camera signs appear on the wall I took this photo of an inside window.
Gargoyles fascinate me , very scarry for a child and they are made from Terra cotta.

Power --- light pole caught fire --- no power in the dark
Last night happily watching the cricket and doing the owl stitchery four letters of the last word to complete---- we look as if we are going to win , only a few overs to go--- Black, Black not a light in sight no house lights, street lights, black. Find the torch and off we go to bed, that was 10.10 last night --- Power did not get connected 'till 12.30 today, up the street for a hot pie and a cup of coffee. Then we checked out the new , well new to us piece of bypass that will take you on to the Anglesea Road, turned around came back home and yipee power power. Gee you miss the expected things in life.
This morning with nothing better to do I cleaned out a small cupboard under the turn of the century washstand and found some interesting odds and sods. for instance my fathers tobacco pouch and some unopened cigarette packs.
Sharks teeth from down Portland way
A compact that was a present for my 16th birthday
Now back to the crafty bits,The Chocolate Cat was posted a " just because " gift which had a tea bag, folder , I looked , I thought , I made a card holder for all those cards that you use once in a blue moon. On the front of the folder is a bag, just in case you didn't know what it was.
So that's my lot for the week Hooroo, 'ave a good weekend, by the way when the power resumed we found that we won by five runs.

Mosaic, Sauce and Chutney
Summertime means suntan, cricket, tennis, surf , swimming AND the Tomato's are ripe for making into sauce and chutney. Not to speak about the Apricots, Peaches, Plums etc. into jam..
We here at number 3 have been busy, Keith makes the sauce I make the Chutney.
Last year I bought an odd dinner set at the Op Shop.
Well this is what it has turned into
Yes you guessed right it is a number 4. My start for Repurposing in 2012

My mother made all my sister's and my clothes. This dress was a pink patterned very fine cotton , it must have been taken at this time of the year in 1950 as the Dahlias are out in bloom.
Have a great weekend, Hooroo
