Babuskhas and other things

Generosity comes in many ways . A lady came along to our craft group a week or so ago and handed over many boxes of stuff that we might be able to use. Stuff turned into an Aladdin's cave for us. In one box was a piece of polar fleece I took it home and turned it into a knee rug, for someone.
The free tutorial for this basket can be found here It is from A Spoonful of Sugar.
And here are my Bubuskha photos from another freebie here
And this lovely needle case was a pattern given to me by the friend who so generously shared her 100% woolen jumpers that she had felted with me.
So never let it be said that you can't out give God. No matter how we give we always receive back in abundance. Abbey is steadily making head way into her rehabilitation. Thankfully she can see, hear ,talk, eat  and is gaining use of her arms and legs . Abbey can stand in a walking frame and once she gets her balance she will be able to walk. She is still in the Post Trauma Amnesia stage of recovery and will be for another four or five weeks or so. She has come so far it really is remarkable. Looking at the first photos in I.C.U. and on life support for 19 days you really shake your head in wonder. Give Thanks so sing along with me. Thank you Margaret

Give thanks with a grateful heart

Give thanks unto the Holy One

Give thanks because He's given Jesus Christ, His Son

And now let the weak say, "I am strong"

Let the poor say, "I am rich

Because of what the Lord has done for us"
Give thanks with a grateful heart

Give thanks unto the Holy One
Give thanks because He's given Jesus Christ, His Son
And now let the weak say, "I am strong"
Let the poor say, "I am rich
Because of what the Lord has done for us"

The Simple Woman's Daybook

The Simple Woman\

FOR TODAY Tuesday 15th March

Outside my window... The sun is shining brightly.

I am thinking... Isn’t it nice to sit down for awhile.

I am thankful for... My Faith, My Home My Family

From the learning rooms... That there is so much heartache and devastation in the world at this present time

From the kitchen.      Just made the pastry for three Quiches. Pumpkin feta and Leek, Mushroom and Gruyere cheese, and an ordinary egg , bacon and cheese. Boiled the rice for Fried rice that Elizabeth will take back for Andrea and Madeline who will be having tea with her tomorrow.

I am wearing Summer clothes

I am creating... A couple of Babushka dolls made from felt wool ,. Going to the Op shops looking for pure wool jumpers to bring home and wash till they become felt.

I am going... To the hospital tomorrow to see Abbey who is now able to talk in a whisper now the tracheotomy has been taken out. Her long term memory is intact.

I am reading...John Howard ‘s book Lazarus rising after reading The Bridge The life and rise of Barrack Obama by David Remnick. I look at politician’s in a different light and can see how morality and ethics play a big part of the person in a high position.

I am hearing... silence

Around the house. There are white butterflies or to give them the correct name Cabbage moths which with  Dragonflies are here in near plague proportions they are every where even in the shopping Centre car park.

One of my favorite things...Peace and rest.
A few plans for the rest of the week:   Looking forward to meeting up with a few friends that I haven't had time to see since Abbey's accident.

Here is picture for thought I am sharing

Journalling along

The Journal covers have kept me busy. These are going to be sold and the money will go towards a music playgroup at our local church in Grovedale.

Today movement in the left arm as well as the right. As I type it is one month and one hour ago since the accident, hasn't the Lord been good.

What a difference a week makes

I have been keeping busy with this lovely colourful stitchery from Lynn Bluebird Quilts, It should have reached Houston by now.

Made a journal cover for Abbey's visitors book , the paper underneath is a water colour page that I will shape and don't know just what yet, but something for the book.

and another for myself. These are so easy I used the Moda Bake cake pattern.

and I turned one of Jenny's Give Thanks into a mug mat,

The photos of Abbey and her trauma I have removed, I wanted to share with the blogging community and that has been very effective in concern , prayer and edification. Thank You I am sure you will understand why I have taken this action. Margaret
